THIS WEEK’S PARASHA Ki Tisa n.22

G-d already commands Moses how to build a Tent of Appointed Meeting for G-d. This Place is a moveable holy sanctuary where the people can bring offerings to G-d. Priests are to wear special garments and wash before officiating in this sanctuary. Each person, rich and poor, is to donate half shekel to finance services. “As for you, Moses,” G-d continues “take the finest spices and the finest olive oil and make a holy anointment. You shall anoint the Tent of Appointed Meeting, the Ark of the Covenant and all within the sanctuary. Sanctify them so that they become holy and all who touch them become holy. Tell the children of Israel to keep My Shabbat, so that you may know that I am the Lord who sanctifies you. For those who profane My Shabbat, their soul shall be cut off from among the people. In six days shall the work be done, but the seventh day is a Shabbat of solemn rest, holy to the Lord. This shall be a perpetual covenant, a sign between Me and the children of Israel forever, for in six days the Lord made heaven and earth, and on the seventh day G-d ceased from work and rested.”

PARASHA DELLA SETTIMANA Ki Tisa n.22
